These drawings were made when Alicea worked for the "Coffee Magazine" (La Revista del Café), published by Cafeteros de Puerto Rico, where he was the artistic director for over 20 years. This magazine had an eight-page suplement that contained stories, poems, tales, and articles illustrated by him. The drawings were made either in paper or in "scratch board" and they are divided in regular illustrations or in portraits of prominent people of our land.
